Start with a strong foundation.

A new design was only part of the challenge with The Metropolitan Chicago Synod's Website. The staff envisioned a full reorganization of the synod's content, and a better way to manage the many types of administrative and educational documents they distribute to varied leaders in its 200+ congregations throughout the Greater Chicago area.

From the beginning, the staff was great to work with -- smart, receptive, engaged in the process. They wanted and were willing to make their website into a strong foundation for the incredible work that they do.

Structuring the architecture in logical groupings became the order of the day. Our "common sense" approach led to intuitive categories of information for the congregation's leaders -- legal, financial, workshops, ministry and mission support, and more. We then created a comprehensive library for all forms and documents, and a dynamic portal for full-time employment as well as temporary pastoral and musician opportunities.

Along the way, we reorganized, and in some cases, rewrote the informational content to better serve the needs of the synod's audiences. Incorporating input and feedback from a broad sampling of its audience, mcselca.org is today an invaluable resource for church leaders in Chicago -- and an easy to manage distribution channel for the synod staff.

"Working with Karen and Andrew of Element Creative on the redesign of our synod Web page exceeded our expectations. They listened to what we needed, helped us sift through a large amount of information, and delivered a Web site that is fresh, inviting, easy to navigate, and user-friendly. From the visual design, to copy writing and the technical aspects of the site, Element Creative was there every step of the way. To anyone thinking of building a new site, or redesigning an existing site, I would highly recommend contacting Element Creative; you'll be glad you did."
